How to choose an online chakra healing course

Honest advice from two practitioners who make one, including who ours isn't for.

Online chakra courses run from free to about $1,000, and most of them promise something similar. The best one for you depends on what you actually want from it, and on how the teacher talks about you.

A note before we start: we make one of these courses, so weigh our advice with that in mind. We'll tell you who ours isn't for, too.

First, decide what you're there for

Most of the confusion clears up with one question: do you want to heal, or do you want to be certified?

A lot of what comes up in a search is certification training, built for yoga teachers and practitioners who want to work with clients. If that's you, look for a program with real teaching hours and a clear account of what the certificate means. If you want this for your own life, you can skip all of that and save a good deal of money.

What it usually costs

Here's roughly what we found when we looked in November 2026:

PriceWhat you tend to get
FreeShort intro courses and guided meditations
About $30 to $100Self-paced beginner courses, recorded lessons
About $100 to $300Fuller self-paced courses and entry-level certifications
About $450 to $1,000Teacher-focused training, or programs lasting several months

A higher price usually buys a longer program. It doesn't reliably buy better teaching, so look at who's teaching and what they actually ask you to do.

Five things worth checking

1. Does it give you practice, or just information?

You can read what each chakra means for free, and you should. Our guide to the root chakra is one place to start. What's hard to do alone is keep showing up. A course earns its price when someone guides you through a daily practice in your body.

2. Will it fit the life you actually have?

Several of the courses we found run about eight weeks. Look at the real daily time, and whether you can go at your own pace. Check how long you keep access too.

3. Is rest built in?

Chakra work stirs things up. Look for a structure that leaves room for it to settle, and be a little wary of anything built on streaks.

4. Can you tell who's teaching, and what they're drawing from?

Good teachers will name their sources. You should be able to find out how long they've been doing this, and hear their voice before you pay. A free sample tells you more than any sales page.

5. Notice how it talks about you.

A lot of chakra teaching is built on the idea that you're blocked and need unblocking. We don't teach it that way. Energy is neutral, and the place you're in isn't wrong. Read any sales page, ours included, and notice how you feel afterward. If you feel worse about yourself, that's useful information.

Also check the small things: whether anything else needs buying, and what the refund policy says.

Where ours fits, and where it doesn't

Inner Alchemy is our 28-day self-paced chakra course. We made it for people who pour into others, and who've lost the thread back to themselves somewhere along the way. Our chakra teaching draws on Anodea Judith's work.

It's probably a good fit if you want a daily practice you can do at home, you're new to chakras or coming back to them, and you have about 20 to 30 minutes most days.

It's probably not the right fit if you want a certificate, or live teaching and a community around you. There's no certification, and no live calls.

The basics:

  • 19 guided video practices of movement and meditation, plus daily journaling
  • Eight sound-healing tracks to download and keep
  • Week one starts with the root and sacral, and week four reaches the crown and brings it all together
  • Rest days are built in, and every day is open from the start, so there's no falling behind
  • $111 one time, with lifetime access. The full amount credits toward 1:1 coaching with us if you ever want that
  • Self-paced programs are non-refundable once you've accessed the material, so please try the free course first if you're unsure

Try it free first

Good Questions

Questions about chakra healing courses

Look for one that's self-paced, assumes no experience, and gives you something to practice each day. Try a free course first to see if the teacher's voice works for you. Ours is here.

Start with the root and work upward, one center at a time. Reading gets you the map, and a daily practice of movement, breath and journaling is how it becomes yours.

The information is free. What you're paying for is someone guiding you, and a reason to come back tomorrow. If you're good at keeping a practice on your own, a good book may be all you need. Anodea Judith's work, which we teach from, is a good place to look.

Only if you plan to work with clients. For your own healing, no.

Several we found run about eight weeks. Ours is 28 days, and it's self-paced, so you can take longer.

No. Chakra work is a complementary practice that sits alongside care from a doctor or licensed therapist.
