How much does reiki cost in Los Angeles?

What a session costs with us, what the price covers, and why reiki prices around the city run from about $100 to $250.

If you are comparing reiki cost in Los Angeles, the price can swing widely from one practitioner to the next. So here is ours, plainly. A reiki session at Word of Mouth is $200 for 60 minutes or $250 for 90 minutes, at our studio on Highland Ave near Melrose or over Zoom. If it is your first reiki session with us, there is also an $85 introductory session. No discovery call required to learn the number. We publish it because clear pricing is part of the care.

The short answer

Across Los Angeles, a single reiki session commonly runs somewhere between about $100 and $250. Shorter 30-minute sessions sit at the lower end, and longer sessions with a seasoned practitioner sit toward the top. Ours are at the upper end of that range because every session is a full hour or more with a Certified Reiki Master Teacher.

Reiki is a complementary practice, not a medical treatment, so it is generally paid directly rather than billed to insurance. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health describes reiki as a complementary approach, which is part of why it sits outside insurance-billed care.

Why reiki prices vary

When you see reiki priced anywhere from about $100 to $250, a few things usually explain the spread. Knowing them makes it easier to compare fairly.

Session length

A 30-minute add-on costs less than a full session. Ours run 60 or 90 minutes, so there is time to actually settle before the session closes.

What is in the session

Some sessions are reiki alone. Ours open with breathwork and grounding before the energy work deepens, and that changes what the hour is.

Training and experience

A Certified Reiki Master Teacher with years of work behind them is a different offering than someone newly certified. Jaime and Yonatan are both Master Teachers in the Usui lineage, and your session is with one of them.

What your session includes

At some places the price is only the beginning and the extras add up. Here the number is the number.

  • 60 or 90 minutes, one on one. Unhurried and private. Nothing starts until you are ready, and we do not rush the close.
  • Hands-on and hands-off reiki in the studio, distance reiki over Zoom. Traditional Usui work along the body's energy centers, adjusted to what you are carrying that day.
  • Breathwork and grounding. Conscious breathing to help you settle before the energy work begins. Both of us are certified breathwork facilitators.
  • A session shaped to you. No two run the same, because no two visits arrive in the same state.

What reiki training costs

Some people searching reiki prices are really asking about learning it. Reiki Level 1 is $550 for a two-day, in-person immersion, and it is where you learn to practice on yourself. Reiki Level 2, the level for working on others, is $750. Reiki Master training is $1,000. Payment plans are available, and the full path is laid out on our reiki training page.

Is reiki worth the cost?

Only you can decide what an hour of deep rest is worth to you. What we can be honest about is what your $200 buys: one focused hour with a Certified Reiki Master Teacher. We have been doing this work in Los Angeles for six years.

Reiki does not diagnose or treat any condition, and it works alongside medical and mental-health care rather than instead of it. What it offers is quieter than a cure. You lie down and someone attends to you without needing anything back. For a lot of people, that is a rare chance for the body to stop bracing.

Good Questions

Reiki cost, answered

A reiki session at Word of Mouth is $200 for 60 minutes or $250 for 90 minutes, at our studio near Melrose. Around Los Angeles more broadly, single sessions commonly run between about $100 and $250, depending on session length, the practitioner's experience, and the neighborhood.

Mostly it comes down to how long the session runs, what is included beyond reiki itself, and the practitioner's training and experience. A short add-on with a newer practitioner sits at the low end. A full session with a Certified Reiki Master Teacher, with breathwork and grounding, sits higher.

Not on price alone. What matters is fit: whether you feel safe and settled in the room, and whether you understand what the session actually includes. We would rather you know exactly what you are paying for than assume a higher number means a better hour.

Reiki Level 1 is $550 for a two-day, in-person immersion. Reiki Level 2 is $750, and Reiki Master training is $1,000. Payment plans are available for training.

Reiki is a complementary practice and is generally not billable to health insurance, so sessions are paid directly. It works alongside medical and mental-health care, not instead of it, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition.
