My session with Yonatan was very impactful. I was truly moved by his warm, gentle, and intuitive nature, and his genuine openness, which enabled the session to share a very connected and intimate space together. Overall, the physical aspect of the Reiki paired with the talking integration of my personal intention was very therapeutic, both physically and mentally. I noticed later that week how it was like a pressure valve that had been released, moving the blocked energy around and out of my body. I felt clearer, lighter, and more positive. Many thanks to Yonatan, I recommend his work highly.

Racing thoughts at midnight, and a body still braced long after the lights go out. Often it is less about your schedule than a nervous system that never got the signal to stand down.

What is breathwork for sleep, and who does it help?
Breathwork for sleep is a complementary practice, not a treatment for a diagnosed sleep disorder. When you are wired at night, your body is running on the same sympathetic activation that handles deadlines and traffic: an elevated heart rate, shallow chest breathing, a jaw and diaphragm that will not release. Slow, intentional breathwork reverses that pattern. A longer exhale than inhale stimulates the vagus nerve, which lowers your heart rate and signals safety to your nervous system, so the body finally gets permission to stop bracing.
It tends to help people whose sleeplessness is stress-driven: racing thoughts at bedtime, a mind that will not power down, and the tired-but-wired feeling that keeps rest just out of reach. Breathwork works alongside medical and mental-health care, not instead of it, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition. If you are being treated for a diagnosed sleep condition, breathwork works alongside that care, never in place of it.
Breathwork is part of a session, not a session on its own
We do not sell breathwork as a standalone appointment. Breath is part of every session here, whatever you book, and formal breathwork comes in when it is the thing that will help.
The way in is a Reiki session. We start with a conversation about how you actually are, and the session goes where it needs to, breath included. If you would rather work over a longer arc, that is one-on-one coaching.
Techniques that help you fall asleep faster
Different breathwork techniques activate the parasympathetic nervous system at different speeds. Your practitioner guides you through whichever fits your nervous system that night, not a single fixed protocol.
4-7-8 breathing
Inhale for 4 counts, hold for 7, exhale slowly for 8. The extended hold and exhale lower your heart rate within a few cycles, one of the most studied sleep-onset techniques.
The cyclic sigh
A full inhale, a quick second inhale to top off the lungs, then a slow, complete exhale, repeated a few times. It is one of the fastest ways to reduce acute nervous-system arousal.
Box breathing
Inhale 4 counts, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4. A steady, even rhythm that quiets a racing mind without any effort to force relaxation.
Diaphragmatic breathing
One hand on the belly, one on the chest, breathing so only the belly rises, the technique the Cleveland Clinic outlines for diaphragmatic breathing. This is the baseline practice most clients carry home between sessions.

What a sleep-focused breathwork session looks like
You arrive and settle in
Private studio near Melrose and Highland in Los Angeles, warm light, nothing rushed. We start with a short conversation about what has been keeping you up: stress load, what you have already tried, where you feel it in your body.
A short intake shapes the session
No intake form to decode alone. This conversation decides which technique fits tonight: slow diaphragmatic patterns for high anxiety, cyclic breathing for stuck emotion, restoring techniques for exhaustion without sleep.
Guided breathwork begins
Jaime or Yonatan guides you through 45 to 60 minutes of intentional breathwork, fully clothed and comfortable throughout. Many clients notice their breathing and body settle within the first several minutes.
Integration and a take-home practice
We close with a short integration period and a 10-minute pre-bed sequence to use at home, so you leave with a practice, not just an experience.
Virtual sessions are also available nationwide for clients who want the guided pre-bed practice without traveling to the studio.
What clients say
I’ve been working with Jaime for over a year now. Her space is super calming and I find myself automatically smiling when I walk in the door. If you’re looking for a blend of fitness, mindfulness and life coaching with a healthy dose of relaxation, this is the place for you. I used to spend my time treating different parts of the body and mind in various places not considering the whole. Working at Word of Mouth has shown me a different way of approaching wellness uniting mind, body, emotion, spirit and community and it feels stickier and more transformative than other things I’ve done in the past. I can’t recommend it enough.
